Simple Living
The last class we took was Jungle Living Skills. During this class we got a lot of pratical skills that we will need on the field. We also had to practice simple living. This meant our lights were out at 9, no microwave, no dishwasher, no internet, no leaving campus, ordering our supplies from another team, and one week of cooking from scratch with no electrical appliances. We practiced making a lot of different things from scratch which was fun. Most of it turned out really well, except my yogurt. Joel also had a weekend of camping with no tent. Here are some pictures from the week.

Thanks for the fun update, guys! The kids enjoyed the "survivor man" lifestyle :). They were quite impressed with the tarp shelter. Aidan also thought it was pretty cool that you're learning to build a house. Blessings to you and your little ones!
Wow... I guess you wouldn't have a Great Clips down the street so getting Joel all up on the the latest do might be helpful! LOL That is all really cool. Can people come and sign up to do this stuff even if they aren't planning to go on a long term mission stint?

what's this crazy paper and ruler business for "how to build a house"? You should either do it right with CAD or go hardcore and walk outside with some mud and wood, start slapping them together in a squarish shape.
Thanks for volunteering to buy us the program and teach us how to use it! Or did you mean that you were volunteering to come design and build our house with your nifty program? ;Þ
you need us to design your square house? pretty sure we could handle it. Although i don't think your generator-run computer could handle CAD. Remember, if we come visit (not out of the question) nathan can never give his double red blood again.
Speaking of sharing info -can you show us how to make one of those homeless shelters shown in the top picture in case the design industry doesn't turn around?
thanks
Is there an after picture of your haircut? My brother, Phil, taught my brother Chuck to cut his wife's hair before they left for Jamaica.
