Field Fair
Last Thursday and Friday was our field fair. I know it is hard to read but the theme was focus your vision, 2500 unreached tribes. I would say that field fair was very informative for us, but not very conclusive. We will have an update going out in the near future going in to depth a little more about what we learned, but I wanted to get out a brief up date soon.
I think the highlight was the first speaker who shared the overall vision on New Tribes. Within that we got to see the five areas of greatest need. This was a very helpful presentation. After that all the fields present gave a 15-20 minute presentation on what is going on in their field and what there needs are. There were about ten different fields that I concluded, "hey I could go there". It is difficult not to get overwelmed by the vast amount of need. Along the wall each missionary had a booth set up with information about their county. Here are a few examples.

On Thursday there was a chance for you to go and ask any specific questions about a field that you had. Student also had missionaries over for dinner to be able to chat. Then finally on the last after noon there was a lunch for the whole school together with the missionaries.
Joel and I learned that we still have a lot of praying to do. We have concluded that we field lead to an open (not a closed country) and that we particularly have a heart for the countries where there is pressure from the surrounding country to close. There is an urgency in these areas to reach the people groups while they are still open. However this only narrows us down to Asia, Africa or South America. Beyond that we praying that God will start to impress upon us more specifically where we will best fit in. Like I said, we are working on an update that will give a few more specifs on this, but here is the main idea we took away from the fair.
