Child Care

We are so blessed here by an amazing child care program. It is so much easier to leave Ethan every morning knowing that he is well cared for. Every time I am in the child care program for the day I am so impressed by the structure and organization of the program. They do an amazing job.

Ethan is in the minis class. This class is all kids who are one year old. They can have up to 15 kids if they are all there. Talk about a challenge :)

They have a different batch of toys that they bring out for every day of the week. This keeps the toys that are brought out fresh to the kids because they have not seen them for a week. The first hour of class is free play time.

When the clean up song is played all the kids help clean up the toys and head to their seats. Most of them know where their chair is and they sit down for snack.
They pray together and all the kids shout "Amen" because they know that means snack is coming.

When they are done with their snack the kids bring their cups to the tray and go sit down on the mat.

On the mat the kids have story and singing time. They read about two stories and then sing a bunch of songs. For the most part the kids all stay pretty attentive.

The BIBLE is always the last song they sing. So the kids all get up and shout BIBLE together. After that they know that it is free time again.

At 10 it is time to go outside to play for about 45 min. The kids all get their coats on and line up at the door to go outside. The kids all enjoy this time with the rocks, swing, slide and cars.

Once back inside, the kids return to their seats for a second snack time. Their hands are washed and they have the same snack routine as before.
After this they head over to their own individual mats for a 15-20 min video where they sit down and rest for a few minutes

When the video is over, they all are responsible to return their mats to the drawer.

After video time there is free time until parents come. Sometimes they bring out puzzles, bubbles, tupperware, or other things if they kids are getting ansy. At the end of a day with 15 one year olds, I am tired. I can only imagine the people who volunteer there everyday for us so we can be in class. God bless the childcare workers!

I tried to leave a comment and I got an error message, so here goes again. I am so thankful that Ethan has such a good day care program. I'm glad you get to be involved too even tho I know it's a lot of work and tiring. It sounds like a great program and Ethan is learning structure early. And lots of other things too. Thanks for taking the time to do all this posting - I love seeing and hearing about it. And, Hey Ethan, nice sweatshirt! :)
